A graveside service for Michael S.
Huett, 59, of Mountain Home will be 11 a.m. Thursday at
Custer-Herron Cemetery in Henderson with the Rev. Randy Ludwig and
Dick House officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at
Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Huett died Monday, Feb. 27,
2006, at Hospice House.
He was born Dec. 11, 1946, at Gassville to Verlin and Eva Ruth
Shrable Huett. He married Laura Mills May 27, 1968, at Mountain
Home. He received a bachelor of science degree from University of
Missouri-Rolla and a master of science degree from University of
Arkansas. A civil engineer, he owned Mike Huett and Associates. Mr.
Huett lived in this area all of his life and enjoyed farming,
hunting, biking and jogging. He also enjoyed athletics and served 20
years as official scorekeeper for Bomber basketball. His
grandchildren were especially important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Huett of Mountain Home;
daughter Cathy (Kevin) Beckham of Mountain Home; son Chris (Kassie)
Huett of Brighton, Ill.; four grandchildren, Nick and Nate Huett and
Grace and Will Beckham; father Verlin Huett of Mountain Home; two
sisters, Joann Hendon of Bandera, Texas, and Janis Blasdel of
Mountain Home; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his mother.
Burial will be at Custer-Herron Cemetery with Dick House, Gaylen
Pitts, James Bryant, Jerry Maleare, Bob Knight, Dr. John Ahrens and
Larry Choate as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick
Huett, Earl Blasdel and North Central Chapter of the Arkansas
Society of Professional Surveyors.
Memorials may be made to the Mike Huett Memorial Scholarship Fund
through Mountain Home Education Foundation.
